Comprehension Skill is Sequence. Sequence is the order in which the main events in the plot happens. Your child should be able to use words like first, next and last to retell the story.
Comprehension Strategy is Summarize. Good readers can retell the main events in a story in the order in which they happen. Your child should be able to tell you what happens in the story in the correct order and only highlighting the main events.
Vocabulary Strategy - Compound words are made up of two smaller words.
Phonics - Plural words using -s, -es, ies
Writing conventions- Subjects and Predicates
Vocabulary:
carpenter - someone who builds with wood
carpetmaker - a rug weaver
knowledge - having information, facts, and ideas
marketplace - a place where people buy and sell
merchant - someone who buys and sells goods
plenty - more than enough
straying - wandering away
thread - a fine twisted cord
